Kelly Wearstler and Me: Like Minds

A few days ago, I was surfing the web window shopping at my favorite design sites when I came across something that stopped me in my tracks. While looking at the new Kelly Wearstler collection for Sferra Fine Linens, I saw a pillow that I instantly fell in love with, not because it was something I’d never see before, but because it was incredibly familiar.  If you’re a regular reader of this blog or have ever seen my Bella Collection, then you know I specialize in using handmade, handmarbled papers to showcase in my work. I have an extensive collection of papers that I’ve curated over the years that influence and become my stationery. One such paper, I’d planned to include in my Bella Collection for Spring 2012, but have decided to share with you all and include for sale now.

Let me be clear, I’m a huge fan of Kelly Wearstler (you can see her site here) so I was very happy to see that our designs had the same influence.  I love the confluence of interior design and fashion design into my work so this is very exciting for me. Here’s Kelly’s design that stopped my tracks.

And here is the newest addition to the Bella Collection, Carole.

Kelly’s pillow is soft gold metallic swirled on linen fabric. My cards feature paper with gold metallic hand swirled on cream 100% daphne paper.

Each envelope is unique.

I’m so happy with the way these envelopes came out. Also, they’re paired with simple deckle-edged Italian cotton cards for a simple, rustic, elegant look just like Kelly’s pillow. Because in the design world, sometimes great minds do, in fact, think alike.
