Today is incredibly exciting around Write Robinson for it is the day I officially launch my latest collaboration with my favorite interior designer, twitter celebrity, blogger extraordinaire, great person and even better friend, Brandon Smith.
Brandon and I have developed a strong friendship over the past year which has enabled us to bond over our mutual love of design, architecture, color, gossip, and of course, art. We have long discussed bridging our worlds and working together on a project and today is the day the world gets to see the fruit of our labor.
As Brandon is a wonderful photographer, I’m grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to see much of his work. Because I absolutely adore postcards and I especially love framing them, it was a match made in design heaven to create a set of Write Robinson postcards featuring the photography of Brandon Smith.
The first collection reflects Brandon’s love of his city, San Diego, and his neighborhood. Seriously, what’s not to love when the focal point of your neighborhood park is the Pacific Ocean? What I see though is the perfect slice of nostalgic California, the California of endless miles of perfect sand and not the one of the latest celebrity crush. I see breathing space. I see a place to relax and reflect. I see beauty and solitude and am want to exclaim, not Calgon, but “DCoop, take me away!”
